Summary – During “Snooki”‘s run on the Jersey Shore, anybody could tell she wasn’t taking good care of her body. From the time the show ended ’til now, she has gone through many changes including becoming a fit wife and a mom. In this book, Nicole dishes how she became strong, inside and out.

If you have never heard of “Snooki”, you have been living under a rock between 2009 and 2012.  She was one of the stars on the MTV Show, Jersey Shore. I personally wasn’t a huge fan of the show but there was almost no way to avoid it when turning on the TV, talking to friends, or consuming any type of media.

For those who did not keep up with the characters after the show, “Snooki” is definitely not the same girl she was in 2012 (which is exactly why I like her).

Nicole "Snooki", then vs now

Here is Nicole 2010 vs 2015.

Nicole has changed drastically from the inside and the outside. Since the last episode, she has given birth to a son, got married to Jionni LaValle, competed on Dancing with the Stars, starred in a Jersey Shore Spin-off Snooki & Jwoww, had a daughter, made a guest appearance in an episode of Supernatural, started a podcast with Joey Camasta called Naturally Nicole, and got physically fit.

And if that isn’t enough, she wrote a book.

Strong is the New Sexy is the 5th book Nicole has published. I have not read her first 3 books, but I did read Baby Bumps and thoroughly enjoyed it. So when I found out she was writing another book, it went straight on my reading list.

Why do I love her books so much? She is hilarious! Her writing is funny and reflects who she really is: down-to-earth, goofy, and original.

She is also big into crafts and bargain shopping – making herself relatable to me.

In Strong is the New Sexy, Nicole talks about her and her husband’s wedding night, their relationship, and their two kids. She also reflections on her childhood and some experiences she has with bullies.  And, of course, how she became a fit mama!

I applaud Nicole on how she is living her life now. While some things she had done in the media is questionable, her personal life is very relatable.

Conclusion: For a good laugh and a glimpse into Nicole’s adult life, this book is perfect.

If you had read the book, let me know what you thought in the comment section. What are some of your favorite quotes from the book?
